Nathan Buckley addresses Collingwood racism review and Heritier Lumumba claims

Nathan Buckley has broken his silence in the wake of Collingwood’s report into systemic racism at the club.

In his first comments since the Pies’ review leaked and president Eddie McGuire resigned, Buckley directed the conversation towards a notorious press conference in 2017.

The clip, highlighted by Heritier Lumumba as recently as last month, showed what Buckley now says was a “dismissive” response to Lumumba’s claims of racism at the club.

Buckley suggested he had halted attempts to meet with Lumumba, who asked last month if the coach still stood by the comments made nearly four years ago.
