Boating facilities at Goolwa are set for a big improvement, with the Beacon 19 Boat Ramp to undergo a $1.3 million upgrade.
Works will modernise the 40-year-old structure and provide an improved boat launching point for fishers accessing the Coorong.
Alexandrina Council will contribute $650,000 to the project, with the state government to match funding through the Economic Stimulus Project.
The project aims to raise Goolwa’s profile as a boating destination and is hoped to encourage greater opportunities to link Beacon 19 with natural attractions found in the Coorong and Lower Lakes.
